Betzone has announced its decision to cease operations in the UK, four years after launching the brand, amid an increasingly competitive market.
After pausing most of its marketing back in October, Betzone announced on December 7 (2025) that the decision to shut down the site had been made. While it seemed to be heading in that direction before, it's possible that the new tax regulations for gambling operators played a part.
In any case, it's a bit of a shame as Betzone partnered up with Metric Gaming at the start of the year to get its own platform, having previously worked with Playbook Gaming. An exclusive licence was also secured at the time.
Betzone before closing down
It goes to show how quickly things can change for a bookie, from being up-and-coming to having to close down the site. For existing customers, there is an FAQ page on Betzone's website that gives instructions for withdrawing any remaining funds and more.
