On the sports side of things, LeoVegas brands in the UK will soon feature a fresh look thanks to the implementation of an in-house sportsbook platform. Inevitably, this will bring the Kambi partnership to an end.
Kambi has been the sportsbook provider for the LeoVegas brands - such as BetMGM and BetUK - for many years now and the partnership was recently extended. However, as reported by BettingLounge, LeoVegas Group is preparing to roll out an in-house sportsbook platform across its brands, which would make Kambi surplus to requirements.
LeoVegas acquired the US-based bookmaker Tipico last year and has since been working on adjusting the platform to its own needs. Based on the aforementioned report, a lot of progress has been made on this front as LeoVegas intends to trial the new sportsbook in select markets, before then rolling it out in prominent markets such as the UK.
For UK punters, this means that LeoVegas and its sister brands - BetMGM and Bet UK - will have a very different look in the future. It is believed that the new sportsbook will be rolled out by the summer of 2025 in all markets, meaning we might just have to wait a few months to see the finished product. Either way, it is likely to be a significant change.
Kambi is the sportsbook provider for several prominent bookmakers, such as Virgin Bet and Unibet, and there is no doubt that the LeoVegas exit will sting. The change has been in the plans for years, though, so it is hard to imagine that Kambi officials were not prepared. Of course, it does mean that LeoVegas' brands will have fewer sister sites on the sportsbook front.
